Nice Michigan People (and what I’m doing about them)

frac sand wash plant wet sieve analysisI recently went to a friend’s wedding in Michigan.

Although the leaves hadn’t yet turned color, Michigan was certainly a very beautiful state.

But perhaps the most striking thing was just how darn nice people were!

Everywhere we went, folks said “hi,” were polite and friendly.

They went out of their way to be welcoming.

The exclamation point on my Nice Michigan People experience happened when we were leaving Traverse City (a nice vacation town on Lake Michigan).

I was in the airport waiting for my flight, and I bought an iced coffee.

When the barista brought it to me, she said, “oh and you can have a free refill if you like!”

Try asking for a free refill at one of the big coffee shops!  It’s just not done.

So, I’m going to try and put some “Michigan Manners” into my business.

I want to completely open my lab up to the world, and welcome you in.

I’m going to show how we do nearly every test that we sell.

(Ok, maybe some of our secret techniques will have to stay that way – only shared with our clients, but…)

For now, let’s start at the beginning.

When a sand sample comes into our lab for frac sand testing, we log it in and wash it.

In the video, I show how we take a sand sample and perform wet sieve analysis, washing and drying during our frac sand testing procedures.

Here’s the video, posted on Youtube for all the world (and you) to see:

In this professionally produced, HD video featuring a very well known actor  (ha)  you can see it all.

This is the first of many in a series of videos and podcasts where we open our lab world up to you.
